Beautiful 15th Century farm with 5 stone cottages nestling peacefully in 78 acres of land, just 20 mins from Cardiff and the Heritage Coastline. All cottages are very well furnished and equipped with full gas central heating, an electric fire, baths with showers over, televisions with freeview channels and DVD/CD player, quality furnishings, bedding, towels etc. All have their own patio with table and chairs and there are 78 acres of unspoilt farmland to explore. There is a small laundry room with 2 washers and 2 driers and plenty of outside line space. We also have a children's play area and a boules court.

Quarry Cottage - sleeps 2

Quarry Cottage adjoins Wayside Cottage and has accommodation for two people. It is the smallest cottage that we offer yet still provides all of the facilities of our larger accommodation.

The ground floor is open plan with the kitchen enjoying a northerly aspect, looking out across the rear lawns and the fields on the opposite side of the road. A south facing sitting/dining room offers views over the patio, lawns and hay meadow.

On the first floor is an attractively furnished double bedroom with a south facing view and en-suite bathroom facilities.

Heather Cottage - sleeps 4

Heather Cottage, a cosy four-person cottage, faces east with pleasant views onto the courtyard and adjoining moorland and woodland. The main door opens into the sitting/dining room where attractive use has been made of the ceiling, existing roof beams and exposed stone walls. An electric fire and central heating adds to the all-round comfort of the cottage.

The well-equipped kitchen forms part of the open-plan dining room and lounge. A hallway leads to the bathroom with WC, basin and bath/shower. Opposite the bathroom is a bunk bedroom which looks out onto the courtyard. At the end of the hall is a double bedroom with a westerly aspect looking out over the rear lawns and the cottage's own patio.

Primrose Cottage - sleeps 4

Slightly larger than Heather Cottage with lounge/dining room, well equipped kitchen, and two double bedrooms. There is also a spacious bathroom with WC, basin and bath/shower to compliment this pleasant corner cottage.

Holly Cottage - sleeps 4

Suitable for the less mobile as this cottage is all on one level, there are no steps inside or outside.

Holly Cottage is one of our most popular cottages and is suitable for wheelchairs. This self-catering accommodation for four people consists of a large double bedroom and a large twin bedroom with a north facing aspect over open countryside and views of the Welsh Valleys in the distance.

There is a large open plan kitchen/sitting/dining room. The bathroom is fitted with WC, basin, bath/shower, and electric shaver point. Some disabled accessories are available on request. From the sitting room access can be gained onto the patio and lawns.

Wayside Cottage - sleeps 6

Wayside Cottage is separate to the main group of cottages, it was converted from the 19th century stone stable block. There is an open plan kitchen/sitting/dining room with mainly south facing windows over the lawns, adjoining meadows and woods.

On the first floor is the main bathroom, two double bedrooms, one with en-suite cloakroom, and a third bunk bedroom. Access can also be made available into the adjoining Quarry Cottage to provide accommodation for up to eight people, or separate accommodation for an extra 2 people if required.

Group info

No party groups, sorry. This is a family environment.

Accessibility

Wayside and Quarry Cottages have stairs, Heather Cottage is accessed by four steps but is then completely level once inside, Primrose Cottage is also accessed by four steps and has three steps down into the kitchen. Holly Cottage has no steps at all other than a door sill and is suitable for people with wheelchairs or mobility problems.

Parking

There is parking for about a dozen cars.

Public transport info

The local bus runs about four times a day and will stop immediately outside the farm, there is a train station in Pontyclun about 2 miles away and the nearest airport is Cardiff Rhoose which is about 20 mins by car. There are quite a few taxi companies locally.
