Plas Llanmihangel
April 2004 - voted one of the best Bed and Breakfasts in Great Britain by Which Good Bed and Breakfast Guide!
Set in secluded and tranquil countryside which has changed little since the 16th century, visitors to Plas Llanmihangel can relax away from the stress of modern living. This fortified manor house has 750 years of fascinating history and its continuous occupation has created a splendid building in romantic surroundings. The baronial hall, log fires, the ancient tower and acres of beautiful historic gardens intrigue all who stay in this fascinating place.
Within three miles of Plas Llanmihangel is the delighful medieval town of Cowbridge and the romantic ruins of Beaupre Castle are within walking distance. Nearby is the wild, unspoilt beauty of the Heritage Coast and Dunraven Bay, which has a vast, sandy beach and rock pools - ideal for families with young children. There are also the extrordinary Sand Dunes as high as hills near the thatched cottage village of Merthyr Mawr. Along with the sand dunes, there is much good country and field walking. Horse riding and golf can also be enjoyed locally. It takes half an hour to Cardiff, which has a fine castle, museums and excellent shopping.
David and Sue Beer, the owners, have dedicated their efforts to the restoration of this Grade1 listed house and the result is cosy accommodation in unbeatable surroundings. This, combined with first class cuisine and personal service, makes Llanmihangel a unique place to stay.
